This was a textile project created as part of a school project aimed at passing on traditional skills to the younger generation. Twelve children aged 4-9 chose their favourite landscape to translate into a fabric collage.
With all their own ideas, their choice of fabrics and many enjoyable sessions later, this is the end result. It now hangs in St Michael and All Angels, Alwinton for all to see.
The children’s focus, concentration, participation and creativity blew me away and inspired me to embark on many more community textile projects.
